It should help when you're peeking around blind corners.

That's pretty useless I agree!

How about one in the rear bumper that's color matched to your paint job .. um, like the Infiniti Q45?? That's the most practicle "luxury" item I've heard of since "auto-up AND auto-down" windows for all four passengers.

it sucks that TL don't have auto up/down for all windows!

Is there an aftermarket for it???

Imagine you take a Q45 to a driving test, they'd fail you for not turning your head!

Many people say Asian can't drive, so maybe this is their solution!?

Just kidding!

The practical application for this mod in Japan is that space (especially parking a road space) is at a premium so this would help you accurately judge parking spaces before you actually pull all the way in -- saving you from potential dents and dings.

Of course here most of our lots are setup to accomodate SUV's and whatnot so it'd be simply for the "cool" factor.

Too Funny!!!

I posted a thread about this months ago. Before I bought my TL, and I think I may have received a response or two. Now everyone is all giddy about it. Oh well, the question remains. Can anybody get it, and doesn't this show that the video is capable of more than just Navi, with a factory decoder of some sort. We'll see.

The reason for this in Japan is not really for parking, it's for seeing if someone is coming at a small intersection. I grew up in Tokyo and that place is really squeezed tight. You have roads that are one lane wide yet are two way! Whoever is closer to the end backs up and let's the other one go through. Now, most houses are surrounded by tall walls all around. And these tight neighborhood's have no sidewalks. Now you come up to this stop sign and you want to turn on this hypothetical street but if you stick the nose of your car so you can see, well it's too late your blocking the whole road. Remeber it's one lane wide, no space for double parking etc. This is where the camera come's in very usefull.
Space is so tight in Tokyo, before you can purchase a car you need to prove you have a parking space for it!
Now, for that comment about asian's not being able to drive, consider this. Most of this saying comes from the fact that alot of people come to this country from poor countries where majority of them have never owned or driven a car. Now they come here at whatever age and pass the ridiculously easy US drivers license test and joins are daily rat race.
Hey Lovesick, I'd like to see you drive aroung Tokyo for a day you'd f#ck your car up so bad you would run home crying!! j/k
