Comptech Springs Installed!!! (long)
Well I finally got my Comptech Springs installed in my ride. The final verdict: it kicks a**.
This was the first time I've lowered my car, so of course I had the normal hesitations. I even spent months trying to decide between the H&R sports and the Comps. But now that they're in, I couldnt be happier.
Rake? Barely noticeable, and if anything - its good. It gives you a better view of the road and better control of the car. This was the main reason why I almost went with the H&Rs (I wanted an even drop). I know you H&R ppl will flame me, but I think cars dropped with those springs look a *little* rice. The comptechs provide a nice drop, it looks like it comes factory like this almost.
Ride quality? Great. It feels stock. But I barely rubbed on a big speed bump, so I have to learn to change some of my driving habits. Honestly though, I can't really tell a difference in the ride.
I was scared that springs would ruin the (semi)luxury aspect of the car, but as it turns out, barely a thing has changed except the fact that the car looks infinitely better (no more SUV gap) and handles better as well. I can take the inside left turning lane with no problem now.
I highly recommend the Comptech springs. I heard a few ppl had to get camber kits with the H&Rs because of the amount of drop. With comptechs, this is uncessary. The extra $100 or so is weeeeelll worth it. Oh yeah, and I bought it from Tim.

Probably a no-brainer question but did you have to get a 4-wheel alignment after putting on the Comptech springs? Just asking because as far as I can tell no one who got them installed mentioned anything about whether or not an alignment was needed.
Thanks,
Tony
Thanks,

You're supposed to get an alignment after a spring install. I didn't though, because I got the install done at a non-dealership location. I do plan on taking the car to my dealer to get the alignment done though, sometime within the next couple weeks.
