Comptech Icebox arrived and installed.

I have written a review with pictures for the Comptech Icebox for the regular TL. You can read the review here so you can see the pictures too. You'll need to copy and paste this to your browser.

I didn't know that until I post that link. Just want to share the info with fellow TL owners.

I paid $240 shipped. I tried to get it from Tim, but when I emailed him, Cuong replied stating they do not carry it for the TL yet, just the V6 Accord. When I replied to him stating I had confirmed with the General Manager at Comptech, Mike B, that the V6 Accord one fits the TL, I never got a response back from Cuong nor Tim so I just ordered it from Dean at Velocity Resources for $240 shipped.

Please e-mail the link to blai21@aol.com so I can read it. I hope you have done a dyno. And in your honest opinion, is it worth the $240? For example, I believe my AEM CAI is worth every penny because I can feel it working.

TIA!

I just emailed you the link. Well, if you have a stock setup and wants to get an intake, it is definitely worth it. However, if you already have a CAI or shortram and do not have to worry about passing smog and don't mind the intake noise, then it is not worth it to switch. And no, I did not do a dyno because I don't have time.

It's been 3 years since I've heard what a stock airbo sounded like so I can't compare. But it is pretty quiet compared to the shortram and I can hear my exhaust all the time now.

I just checked out the comptech forum and the company says they are working on a diffeent mold to compensate for that headlight peice getting in the way. They said it hasn't been released yet for the TL CL so I guess it is basically the same but the later version will be specific for our cars.

Yes that is what we have been told, so we are not selling it till Comptech confirms

And Sam anytime you need me directly, email sales@autocarparts.com

Cool, I'll use that email from now on. I thought the info@autocarparts.com would get to you too but I guess not. I even directed that email I sent to you asking how you are doing and such, but I guess Cuong never forwarded it to you. Oh well.

I would definitely wait it out for the TL specific box. I had to do a few things to get it to fit in there.... not only was it into the headlight, but it was also tight between the wheel well and the battery... had to do some trimming & etc.
As far as the sound goes, it is real nice. You don't really hear the intake unless you get on it.
My next alteration to this setup, which I am collecting parts for now is I am ducting the intake to the fog hole. Ram Air, can't wait.
