I'm getting headers for my '99 TL. i'm sure this has been thoroughly discussed but i'm new so.. any advise, suggestions or comments? i need info on the installation. how much should it cost at a dealer? any reccommendations? (i live in houston, TX). has anybody had any problems with the headers?
thanks.

I highly recommend Carboys in Houston! They are located off of Bissonet b/w Beltway 8 and Hwy 59! Expect to pay b/w $225 and $250. They do good work and I've had ALL of my mods installed there!

Don't get it at the dealer! They will charge you an arm and a leg for them plus installation!
Get the headers here and have it installed by a local mod shop!

Hello Veloce... Welcome to the board... I am also a owner of a 99TL and 01CL... I had my pulleys, CAI, and Denso plugs by Carboy, and they installed the Pulleys and CAI.... When they installed my pulleys, they can carefully point out that what's the different between an Accord V6 pulleys and TL's pulleys, and tell me wat risk i am taking and stuff, and gave me good suggestion... After the installation, the car runs good and stuff.... So i strongly recommand them to anyone in Housotn.... BUT, make sure you talk to either Jacky or Henry, but try to avoid Sam.....

Damn. HoustonCL got personal (about Sam)....
You didn't hear it from me but HoustonCL has a point on that one.
Jackie is the best. I've known him since i got some mods done through him for my prelude. There is no substitute. The guy is in this for the long term. I"ve been to Hocus Pocus, Endless, Twin Power (are they still around?), C.A.C (what a joke) and countless other aftermarket places, the rest are mostly for stereo though. Anyways, I highly reccomend Carboy as well....
On the other hand, i just got back from ACura SW, they told me it will take 2 hours for the install, and it costs about 75 bucks an hour for service. so i guess thats it at 150. I have an appointmentnext friday and i iwll discuss further, the service dept was closed when i went although i did have a conv. with the service rep. they do charge an arm and a leg tho, they quoted the header at 1150 and 25 bucks for shipping. wherever you decide to go, ask them about some rattling noise from the header, SW acura told me to watch out for that.
Anyone with Comptech headers: Can you tell me if you have any noise coming out of it??
Thanks.
