Comptech Headers; Exhaust right away?

I was wondering if you went with headers, is it required to get exhaust right away? Any numbers, advice, suggestions would be reatly appreciated.

Thanks y'all!

Nope, it's not required. Many people have headers and still haven't swapped out the exhaust. There are also many people who have the exhaust, who haven't installed headers yet, like me!!

And I'm the former--headers and no exhaust. I couldn't see spending that kind of money ($600 or so) for 1 or 2hp and no real weight savings to speak of...

The TL Type S exhause is already upgraded over the normal TL, there are no performance gains to be had by swapping them out.

Now gutting your cats is a different story....

cool...

My TLS has headers installed on it by a previous owner, and I wasn't sure whether I would need to put on eshaust to make it count.

Thanks a lot for your responses.

I think you should. I mean a lot of these guys here believe that there is no real difference, but you don't know til you get the after market exhaust system and lay it next to you factory piping. I think there is a difference because factory has more restriction due to its premuffler and resonator. Where as my Tanabe has only one resonator and it has more flow. I don't know I'm pretty sure a lot of guys can argue here but I would. Just makes more sense. If you going to have more flow throughout the ENTIRE exhaust then you need a catback! Just seems logical. Just my two cents.
