Anybody who has comptech exhaust, can you please tell me how it sounds inside the car while cruising on the freeway?

 

Between 1-3000rpm u have a hmmmmmmmmmmmmm sound...over that you don't hear it much..but it sound soooooooo sweet from outside!

There is very little difference between the stock and comptech exhaust at high way speeds. You only really hear it at low rpms while going around on local roads and gaining speeds. I'll try to post sounds of inside my car. But mine will be with AEM CAI.

That would be perfect, cuz i have the CAI too!

 

Go to the Comptech page at Acura-TL.com...there are a couple of wav files you can hear the Comptechs. But the wav files don't sound as good...you can't hear that low-down, muscle car grumble!

 

There is a significant difference between the stock mufflers and Comptech between 1-3,000 RPMs. I am starting to get used to it, but there is a steady hum at those RPM's.

Agreed...at low RPMs (1-3k) you definitley will notice a difference in stock interior noise. It took me quite a while to get used to it, and sometimes still it is annoying on a long hiway trip. When you get on it though, it sounds GREAT!

That "burble" when starting up the car attracts a lot of positive attention Your car will sound like it has a bigger engine at low RPM.

I'm amazed that the exhaust is relatively quiet at higher rpm... almost like stock.

Yes, there is a hum on the highway when you hit the gas. Everyone who has ridden in my car tells me the sound is not obnoxious (even my dad, imagine that!) Also, the exhaust (like the stock exhaust) wiggles in reaction to bumps in the road. You just notice it more because it's so shiny.

If I hadn't got the MR-2, I would have kept the Comptech Exhaust. I like to have cars at both extreme... A "proper" quiet luxurious car and a "rude" little screamer.

Now my cars match my dual personality!

It sounds so good, and quiet that my wife even likes it.

No Rice sound from it.....
