Question Compression question...

I have a '99 TL. I know the basic in and out of a motor, but im curious how hard it would be to get my compression up to TL-S spec. Is it even possible or am i just stupid?

For one the crank shaft would/should have to be replaced because the connecting rod journals are more offset from center. With that I don't think the connecting rods would need replacing. Also, it would be a good idea to check valve clearance o fthe pistons.

This all assuming there isn't any other differences in the parts fitting.

it's probably not as cost effective as selling your car and getting a used TLS. And that way, you can get a warrantied car with other TLS features.

You could lower the heads closer to the block with shaving or a really thin gasket but your ECU might not be able to handle the possible knock, it may pull back timing, or it might work great, I don't know. I'd do AEM CAI first and headers which is roughly 6 plus 16 HP at the wheels.
