So i have always wanted a TL but i got a Pathfinder instead now i have to get a TL so i have been looking at used TLs. At first i wanted a base but now i wnat one with Navigation. So today i went to look at a 2000 NBP with Navi and a 2000 SSM with Navi , i get to the first place and they guys goes to me "yeah we just sold that one about 10 minutes ago (shady) so i leave really pissed since i just drove an hour and a half and he says he just sold it. I then go and look the the NBP and i loved it. So i tell him i would tade in my 2001 Pathfinder , he come back and tells me he wants my car and $7,000:wow: He said ill give you $15,000 for your , keep in mind my car has 50 k and this ac had 40k , so i got mad pisseed becasue this guy is comign up with this messed up figures , the most i was willing to go was 4 k so he tells me the best i can do is 6 k i said thanks and have a nice day , on the way home my dad convinced me to buy a new one cause he hates used cars - So now the real question ABP - Type S or NBP - Navi?

naw man...... common, hold out a little longer and get the TSX or the new TL, your ganna kick your self in the ass really really hard once the newer and better version comes out.

my is a 2001 and im already kicking my self in the ass for not waiting 3 more month till the 2002 type s came out,

(it was really gay of acura to come out with a 2002 after only realeasing the 2001 for a few month.)

I hate to tell ya buddy, but he wasnt trying to rip you off, check it out on kelly blue book, for the acura you were looking at they say you should be looking to pay about 21,500, so 15+6=21, not a bad deal, what kind of pathfinder u have for a trade in?

ps, go with the blue, i have the black it is beautiful, but never again, it only looks good when its spotless which in NY and in the winter is about never.

 

2001 Pathfinder LE

 

I have black as well and it is a ***** to keep clean. When your car is clean and in the sun, do you see almost a bluish metallic undertone? I might be colorblind, but I swear I see a tint of blue metallic in it.

 

Oh my fiancee's CRV was Nighthwak black. Even in Florida its a pain to keep it clean, and its gets about 50 times hotter then my white TL.....but hey........ according to her it goes with everything she wears. I'd go with Aegean Blue.....which was my second color choice.

 

Nissan resale values are poor. You gotta keep that in mind. Also, although it may be wise to wait for the new 2004 TL to come out, there's every indication that it will be a more expensive car than the current one is.

 

TSX is a 200 hp, 4 cylinder car, why wait for that?

Its not just the horses and the engine config.....its the total package. If it was just the horses and engine I'd be driving a Mustang Cobra for the price of my TL. Even tho I haven't driven a 4 cyl that I liked.....maybe this is the car to change my mind. (IMO)

 

go with silver...i'm in Queens and my friend has a silver car and it looks virtually clean.

 

Yeah, but the TSX is a new model which means
1) who knows what type of problems, etc. you will encounter, give them a year to work out the bugs
2) you will pay sticker.

 

Took the words right out of my mouth...i got my 01 TL 2 months before the Type-S came out. I had no clue that the type-s was coming out....as for the navi....i am kickin myself in the butt everyday for not getting it,...

 

yup, just wait for lil longer than you can either get the 03 0r the 04 TL, because if you don't then you will be joining the club call" kickin myself inthe butt everyday for not getting it "

 

but there is always a risk in getting a new model. plus, all the little subtle refinements will be added to the '05 TL. just like the differences between the '99 and '00 TL's (i.e., 4 spd v. 5 spd, HD nav v. DVD nav). so, if you wanna wait, wait for the '05 TL, when most of the kinks have been worked out.

 

tell me about it...i bought my car in 2000, no type-s at that time, there was navi, but i dunno y my dunbassdidn't get it..........

Ya man, that was the one reason i took the black, it direct light it turns a dark blue, then black at night, i like to compare it to the color of the sky as it gets dark, its such a dark blue it looks black. Funny side note when a cop had to come out to write a report when i got my windows shot out he put his light on my car and i was watching him just kinda move the light around and he just looked confused, finaly he looked at me and said, "Kid is your car blue or black, i cant tell."
