might as well get a huge carb cleaner can and do the EGR cleaning so you wont have to do it later on when the check engine light comes on.. its common among the TL's.

If your changing your timming belt, it's a good idea to change the waterpump at the sametime while it's all apart.

Throttle body cleaning, if you have high mileage, might as well get a valve adjustment (may not need one but might as well), change valve cover gasket, coolant flush, trans flush, brake fluid. Thats all I can think of on top of what was already mentioned.

can new spark plugs even be measured as far as HP goes, if you get some titanium plugs or something? 1-3hp gains?

sparks plugs equal no gain! Iridium's last longer. NGK Iridium IX plugs last 100k while Denso iridiums are supposedly 30k but I believe much lkonger life can be expected. Check your coils packs and might as well get a cylinder pressure check and battery check also. How about new 02 sensors. Man a complete tune-up on a TL is like replacing as parts that fail over time after wear and tear. How many miles do you have and just stick to the owners manual(other than cleaning IM&TB, that's just a great idea).

Save yourself a lot of money and do most of the work yourself. Except for the TB, all of these tasks can be done at home. Get yourself a Helms service manual, a set of hand tools and go for it.

Not only will you save loads of money, you'll get the satisfaction of working on your own car.
