Hi, everyone...

1. Do you know which exhaust is quilter if comparing Mugen and Comtech exhausts??
2. Is anyone experiencing both exhausts??
3. How do you feel about those two exhausts??
4. Does it help the performance "A LOT"??

I am looking for an exharst for my 2001 Acura TL, but I don't want to have a loud exhaust. If possible, I want to get an exhaust which is almost the same quilt as factory one.

Comptech exhaust:

1) is made specifically for the TL

2) is pretty quiet at higher RPM's

3) is louder (but not loud) at low RPM's (can get annoying at steady highway speeds)

4) is not going to give big performance gain- maybe 5 HP max, no exhaust will give huge gains

5) looks really cool!

don't know about other types, but I'm definitely Pro-Comptech!

I've heard both the Comptech and the Mugen ones. The Mugen is slightly above stock. The Comptech would be more like 4 times louder than stock. Bear in mind stock is pretty quiet so about 4 times louder wouldn't be too much either. But Mugen is definitely more quiet.

 

Mugen is quieter, Comptech's are louder..
Mugen is UGLIER(IMO), Comptech's are suhweeeeet!

Yeah...I've heard that mugen exhaust is quiet.. But is it really ugly???? I think it's OK.....

 

What are you talking about the Mugen exhausts are ugly? I have never come across somebody that didn't gawk and drool over my Mugen exhausts! Body shops and enthusiasts take one look at the absolutely perfect hand welding and tell me that this exhaust must have cost huge dollars! No disrespect to Comptech but those exhausts look pretty run-of-the-mill universal looking.

I have another question for all of you....
I have a certain budget (about 1500 US) for those stuffs adding on my 2001 3.2 TL.

If I get the MUGEN EXHAUST, I have no enough $$ for the COMPTECH HEADER. In fact, I do want to have both EXHAUST and HEADER.

Actually, I don't want to get a loud exhaust because I will upgrade whole my stereo system(very nicely).

Which is the BEST DECISION for me to make, if you were me ?????

Comptech sounds and looks suhweeet!!!. Never experienced Mugen...Anyone have pics???...

Comptech is a little bit louder than stock..but if you drive 70 and up you barely even hear it....It's really not that loud but I could see how it is annoying because it has that constant hummm..Doesn't sound like a ricer though more like a BMW M Series exhaust...just a little louder
