Ok, I cannot help myself to stop by the dealership again tonite, and boy I was lucky! Shipment of TL-S is finally here! I drove one test car, but not much fuel left so I drove it around in the lot. My impression is that the acceleration is very.... brute! The suspension definitly feels stiffer than the previous TL, and steering feel is very tight, not meaning hard to steer, but feel... sporty.... With the help of a friend working as a sales there, I was able to snap lots of pics there tonite. He told me eventhgough they have the cars now, they cannot sell them b/c the dealer haven't get their invoices for them yet. So only a couple of TL-S is available for test drive. And oh, the black one was for test drive, and he old me I was the first customer to drive it cuz the car has no registration or whatsoever, no sticker at all, so it's not really legal to have it out on the streets yet.

I think so too.... maybe it's due to the lower-profile tires, or Acura wants ppl to lower their car a bit? heehee =)~~
Oh yea, the dealer showed me another neat feature of the new TL, you know how you have 2 remotes for the car? Now the remote has change the look, they loks like expensive after-mkt stuffs now, and then, with memory seats 1 & 2, if you have remote #1, if someone unlock the car with remote #1, the seat will automatically adjust itself to #1 position even befor ethe driver's door is opened! Same for remote #2, which will make the driver's seat to set to momory #2 automatically.

Great pics, and thanks for snappng the stickers, it was good to be able to compare. And the best part, the Type-S isn't that much more than the regular TL!!! Though I have to say that the new grill is too big , but otherwise looks great

why did acura change the rim width on the type s from 7 on the cls to 6.5 on the tls?

I know the original press materials for the cls showed 17x6.5, but by the time it came out they were 17x7s. odd.

so, can you confirm that the tls has real fog lights (and switch) rather than the lame "road lamps" of the cls?

That picture of the 2001 and 2002 side by side really shows the difference in the front of those two cars.
I haven't seen a better shot taken by anyone.

Do you have any other side by side comparisons?

Just checked out the car. The front grill doesn't look as bad. The rear Acura logo is a little too big however.

The Aegean blue version with the Nav is my car....on order anyway. Due in between now and the 18th...I think I'll like it if the color is any indication.

Yes I snapped all the pics from Sterling McCall Acura, in case you dunno, it used to call Acura SouthWest. The salesman, Tony Chan, was very nice as he allowed me to snapped shots all I can and lemme test drive the TL-S for a bit...

Hey guys I'm glad y'all like the pics! I personally like them so much, I mean, I just got so excited when I walked in the dealer's lot with my camera...
Those new TL just arrive as you can see, all those plastic wrappings are still there inside and out, the bluw on the reg. TL is in pic. #14; I was just so crazy snapping the pics of "TL-S" and the salesman calm me down like "oh nono that's not TL-S, you're too excited..." Side by side comaparsion of the new and 2001 model was just a coincident that they parked all the cars like that together.
ANd the suades seat, no they're not cloth, hell no! They're all leather, kinda firmer than the leather in the 01 TL, and I think we call it "air-leather" as in some of the Momo's steering wheels and shift knobs...
I am going back to the dealership with my friend again today (cuz he wanna drive it bad) and I may bring a camcorder with me this time to see if I can record a quick mpeg of the acceleration of it if they let us drive it out on the streets... <grin>

Oh yea, I also have the new TL brochure, the redline of the reg. TL is 6500rpm and the TL-S will be 6900rpm, just FYI...

Ok, for your viewing pleasures, I have just posted some more pics of the Aegean blue TL-S I took at the Houston Autoshow back in Janurary. I've notice the wedge bulbs in the foglights used on the CL-S, but on the new TL-S, it looks like they now use 900_ (9005?) bulbs, I didn't get a perfect shot of it, but you can see that definitly is not wedge bulbs anymore! Hope you guys like it! =)
