Unhappy This combining of forums is such a turn off

I dont feel like looking thru the threads anymore b/c sometimes you dont know if people are reffering to the older TL's or the newer ones

Such chaos!

Who is with me?

i like this better... i mean think about it, when a TLS owner posts about his TLS in the TLS forum, 9 times out of 10 its pretaining to something we can all use and that isnt specific to a TLS.

Honestly, this site is getting pretty boring...The a-cl site has so much more input and diversity. Some of the posts, replies and other fodder make me feel like I have to pull my pantiess completly up my crack half the time...
I was at first against combining the two sub-forums because I hate reading stories about how fast a '99 TL is (and no offense TL guys), or being envious of the fact that older TL's actually have some choice in body kits...Then I figure that a lot of of the posts are general in nature so who cares (a-cl is this way)...
I just wish that there was something indicating who has what kind of car so I know what is going on and I won't get sucked into BS racing stories or something...
Just my $0.68

I think the reason this site is kinda boring is the lack of traffic. The problem is there are 3 major sites with forums for the TL..

acura world.com
acurainspired.com
and acura-tl.com

We need to find a way to unite these forums so we can have more discussions, opinons, etc......It's too bad we can't have one common site, (like acura-cl.com) where all of us post.

The TLS forum was moving SO SLOWLY that I think this is better. I do agree though that I now have to look a little harder to find stuff specific to the TLS...although the S and P are practically the same!

Yup. A-cl.com is easily one of the best online car forums, period.

But I still enjoy A-tl.com also:p

a 2nd gen TL is a 2nd gen TL... most of the time the posts on one section are pertinent to the other. hardly have i seen Type S only threads.

i really dont see why the frustration (unless people want to feel special about having a Type S)

Yes. You are right. We Type-S drivers are inadequate and have inferiority complexes. Thanks for pointing it out...

I really like the IS300.net as well. The a-cl crew are like choirboys compared to them! Granted, a lot of them are stupid, stuck-up rich kids, but at least they are pretty much all smarta$$es with excellent bantering skills!
Acuraw o r l d does suck--and bad...
This site is very useful, even fun sometimes. Just a bit stodgy. I suppose the extra doors do that to people...

I think we did this topic last year or the year before.
I wanted the 2nd generation TL & the Type S forum combined.
Now that we have a 3rd generation TL something comming very soon But the 1999-2003 3.2TL & 2002-2003 3.2 TL TypeS have alot in common. Now what are you guys with with Type S models going to due? I know what I am going to due go out & look at a 2004 TL or what ever its going to be called.
I said I am going out & look at a 2004 TL not buy

I am not really fond of combining the two forums either but I guess it's just going to take time to get used to it.

Cheers !!!

i had not insulted Type-S drivers nor did i insult the car in any way. Yes, the Type-S is a nicer car than the TL-P and yes it should be special since it costs more money as was pointed out (but people dont pay for the merger or separation of the forums). But the point is that a lot of people are arguing over the merger when in fact, both cars are the same. Its not like there is to be a merger of 1st gen and 2nd gen TL forums - they are totally different cars. The TL-P and the TL-S are the same car and most people have questions that relate to the TL as a whole.

Although I will miss the separate Type S forum, I agree that the post volume (and variety) isn't enough to justify it. Hopefully, the combined forum will have more variety. Besides, it is easier than having to check both forums all the time, like I used to do.

I think it was a good idea... The cars are the same... Just a different $$ figure, a little badge, and 35 hp... So now instead of talking about the same things in 2 seperate forums, we are doing it all in the same forum...

Combining was a good idea. Even though I have a TL-P, I found myself posting more often in the TL-S forum because many of the issues mentioned there were common to 2G TLs. The TL-S forum was also a little busier than the regular TL forum.

(Frankly, all the action nowadays is on A-TSX.com because of the exclusive 3G TL pix.)

I agree completely. It's too chaotic now. Mods, let's go back to the old setup!!!

Or, at least have 3 icons that distinguish between threads for TL, TL-S, or both. I find myself reading threads and then realize it's not about my car.

actually he has a point.. some threads in the 2nd gen arent about their cars

i mean if i was to surf this site and saw a thread on H&R drops vs comptech drops in the 2nd gen TL, id want some specifics since the TL-S will have different drops than the TL-P. Also, the TL-S has different mods and they dont fit the TL-P so i dont want to hear about the sways, headers, intakes, exhausts, strut bars, etc unless they specify what car they are for. And the tranny issues? we all know that ONLY the type S models have that issue so we dont need TL-P people posting about how their TLs have tranny issues - it doesnt relate to the Type S TL . HID bulb upgrades? bah only the TL-S has to upgrade their bulbs. Aftermarket rims on a TL-S, as we all know, dont fit the TL-P (id keep rambling but unless there can be an argument made for the significant difference of posts between both forums, i dont see why the TL-P is considered a considerably different car than the TL-S)

Exhausts?? it is only the damm Y- pipe.....and i believe the headers are the same too...only CL-S6 are different( i might be wrong too)...isn't springs are same as TL,CL TL-S , CL-S also last gen AV6??? ok..intake is different...
how come i don't see in MB message board have C240 and C320 in diff forums??
