I have 2002 TLS w/40.000 miles on it. sometimes when i start it i get what i call a"CLUNK" from presuming the starter .Sounds like something is lose just before engine fires it would hit something.Need to know if this is normal or just me Thanks, Kent

 

shouldnt make a clunk. should be smooth

 

try not startin it hard, like push hard on the key when turning, i sorta had the same prob and i turn it wit ease, and it helps out. try that.

 

Sounds like the old engine mount clunk that's been posted about in the past. Our engine mounts are vacuum adjusted. Cold start - no vacuum.

If it only happens when it's cold/first thing in the morning don't worry about it. If it happens all of the time, you might want to look further into it.
