Anyone knows of this problem - when starting the car I can hear a clunking noise right behind the engine on the bottom. The clunking noise is consistent everytime the car is started. Could this be the rear engine mount is bad? The clunking noise sounds like metal contact hitting one another. Thanks

 

thats what i heard when my mounts were broken.

 

Any idea how to check the rear engine mount? Anyone has any technique on how to replace it? Thanks

Not so sure about that. I had my engine mounts replaced and my "clunk" persists. But mine is ONLY when the car is cold. You car does this every time?

 

this sounds more like timing issues? as if the engine is retarded!!
