Question Doesn't make sense on replacement tranny

Today I got my 01 TL back out of the shop for the replacement trans when I got Home I opened the hood just to look at it and notice they didn't put the jet pack on. Now why would they replace the trans and not put the jet pack on??? So I called the dealership and talked to the service advisor (sa) and she said (falling all over her words) the replacement trans don't need the pack put on. But then I was thinking that I read on here that they aren't changing the design there just gutting and going back with new replacment parts. She also told me that if the trans needed the pack put on that honda would get in touch with me. Does this make sense to u guys

they are lying!!! Talk to service manager and tell him you heard here that it is required and you know it is supposed to be included and hold your ground. If you get push back tell them you will complain to acura client services and then ask for his boss.

yeah according to Fsttyms1 the most recent tranny rebuilds (from after March '05) have the additional lube internally. Be glad you got one of those "new" refurbs as the 3rd gear clutch assembly surface is supposed to be highly polished to reduce friction and maybe give the tranny more life.

from what the guy told me from getting my transmission replaced last week, he told me that they beefed up the tranny, and i shouldn't have a problem with this new one....

Is this just a way for them to get out of the external jet kit? Are they really internal? Is there a way to know, or do we just TRUST the dealers word???

This is what ive read from acura, and what a rebuilder told me. Its not a Way out from them having to install a external one, The revised some internal parts That being 1 of them. They also upgraded the clutch plates and a shaft on the 3rd gear from what i was told to help the 3rd gear lubrication and cooling

So, will the internal mods fix the design problem?

hmm...ok, so the jetkit is internal. my gf's CL had the tranny replaced last month, so it should not have the kit. Does anyone know if these "new" tranny's are any better?

Only time will tell. Honda made changes to some parts so we will have to wait and see

I have driven about 250 miles today on it and wow this things shifts like a dream. I bought the car with 52000 in march and never paid to much attention to how it shifted tell it went out. Today it has 68500 with the new one and man its unbelivable how it shifts. between 2nd and 3rd there isn't no winding of the motor or nothing lets see how long that last.
