Clunk in the front

Help me out guys... I just had TEIN SS coilovers installed on my ride about a few weeks ago and all seemed well. However, now when I hit some bumps and dips in the road, I hear a clunk noise from the left front wheel. What could it be??

As stated before, I am lowered on TEIN SS coilovers, the degree of the drop, I do not know, the installer and I tightened the springs up to the level that is needed for the spring to sit against the top mount... maybe tighten it the spring so it is tighter? I was also thinking maybe it was a control arm, stabilizer, etc?

Also, have you guys changed your driving habits since going lower?
(cause I haven't, except I go over bumps, dips, railroad tracks, etc. real slow)

i would jack it up, and get a good grip and pry bar and check places.

for me i had a clunk and it was a broken endlink, was obvious since the other end is just dangling...

If you got the preload set to where the spring is just touching on both ends, it's way too low. Take it somewhere they know what they're doing. The spring should be compressed somewhat when the damper is fully extended. I don't know what the preload should be though.

The simplest thing would be a lose endlink. Did you unbolt the endlinks when you installed the coilovers? I know I did when I put my S-Tech springs in. (Realized I didn't have to when I installed my coilovers.) I put the car back on the lift, shook the FSB, heard the same clunking sound that I heard while driving. Tightened the endlinks, fixed. (Although, its's coming back now.) I'd get the front off the ground when doing this.

This is what my first guess was as when we did it, we put the top hat (top mount) just tight enough so the spring is lightly compressed... I am guessing i need to compress it further... we did not have a ruler and it said to compress to 1.2 inches... I don't think we did that...

Nope, did not remove the endlinks... but I will check regardless...

Also check the brake caliper and see if it's loose and check the wheel hub for looseness!

UPDATE:
Damn, still no fix. I got underneath and looked and started pulling at stuff and could not find anything loose... but I did adjust my suspension to the recommended settings. It did subside a bit, but it is back, but not as loud.

To be more specific about the issue, it feels as if the wheels are loose and usually noticeable when I hit dips. I mean, I don't get the noise when I hit a bump all the time, but I do hear it when I hit a dip in the road or coming back down off a speed bump.

Let me know if you guys have anymore suggestions. Thanks.

Mine was doing the exact thing. You know that top mount, tighten it all the way. Mine was hella loose, and that is what was causing the noise. Hopefully it should stop. PEACE!

I know it sounds to simple ... but Check the Sway bar Bushings...... I would have saved around $1,500 ...... Struts, end links, and a front ball joint.... By the way, Mine LOOKED GOOD .... They weren't... Good luck

If you guys are getting clunks something is WRONG. These were not installed correctly.

Need to be taken out and reinstalled. That's what I would do.

Yeah, I am going to do what HeelToe said, I am going to remove them and reinstall. The guy that installed them the first time, installed springs and shocks on countless Honda and Acura vehicles in Houston and he came highly recommended so I trusted him to know what he was doing. We will see. Will post back later.

Sounds like my credentials as well. Just the same, there should not be any clunking or any other sort of sound coming from the car with any suspension.
