Sounds like the relay to the fogs, which is located behind the passenger side dash area. What wattage are the new bulbs? The stock wiring/relay is designed to handle the stock 51W bulb load. Anything over, say 60W, is asking for trouble. The annoying sound is the least of your worries--an overloaded relay is a fire waiting to happen.

No that should be fine. I actually melted the socket in my last car with too high wattage bulbs. I had 35/15W bulbs in a 15/5W socket.......lets just say I ordered many sets of sockets.

I agree with sssick--55W is fine. I've got Sylvania Silverstars in mine (which are also 55W) and I've had them in there for over 1 1/2 years with no problems. But it still doesn't explain why you're getting the clicking sound. Definitely sounds like a relay complaining about something.

Maybe I misunderstood the original post. I assumed there was more than one click (several in succession), when you first turned it on. If you hear only ONE click, this may be normal behavior. Some relays will make an audible "click" when they switch on. I just went out and turned mine on and off and I don't hear a thing. But that doesn't mean that what you're hearing isn't normal. As long as it is one (and only one) click, it's probably just fine. Numerous clicks, on the other hand, definitely indicate a problem.

yeah it is one click... only ONCE when u turn it on.

i guess these fogs are temporary for now, i dont want n e thing f*cked up cuz i put 55W in(and they were pretty cheap too so im thinking the quialty is crap). I've been lookin into PIAA's now, n e body have suggestion for this?

ive also seen romini's post about his HID ballast he installed for his fogs.... Just wondering how much this is.. Im not planning on doing this cuz the TLS is a lease, but just curious

I wouldn't worry about one click at all, and 55W is also fine for the stock wiring--you won't mess anything up with that set-up. I put my head down real close to my passenger footwell and I also can hear a faint "click" when I turn on the fogs and the relay kicks in.

Mine are also stock and I always get the "single click" when turning on the lights.

OK QUICK QUESTION.... I HAVE HAD MY 8O WATT FOGS IN SINCE MARCH ON MY 03..MY SOCKET IS NOW BURNED..I WANNA TAKE IT BACK TO ACURA TO GET EM REPLACED. WILL THEY GIVE ME A PROBLEM. IM GONNA JUST PUT BACK IN THE 55 WATT..WHAT DO U GUYS THINK. IN MY LAST CAR I WAS RUNNING 90W FOGS IN AND THEY NEVER BURNED OUT. MAYBE IT WAS BECAUSE IT WAS THE SMALLER FOGLIGHT BULB AND NOT THE 9006 BULB..ANY COMMENT APPRECIATED

I think the dealer is going to be able to figure it out since the fuse didn't blow but the socket was burned. I'm sure it's not the first time they've seen a too high wattage bulb in a socket.

Unfortunately, that's the risk you take in putting high wattage bulbs in a stock wiring harness....
