anyone know where i can get my heads cleared professionally at any Southern CA shop? WHY does EVERYONE that are good a cleariniing live in the east coast.. DaNg! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

 

I'm interested if there is such a thing.

I've asked several local speed shops and none of them will do it. They actually recommended against doing it due to possible fogging problems...

I believe there are quite a few ppl in So Cal that have cleared their own and did a great job. Maybe you can ask them for some pointers or help.

i did mine & no fog.

no promise that it wont fog but i will do it for 200. i need them for a weekend.

You can do it yourself...I think there should be instructions on here...if not, when the cl board is back up...there are instructions there....the key is use silicone and make sure all the gaps are sealed completely.

yea, go to generation one. My brother just got his s2k done there last weekend and they did a pretty good job on it. Im thinking bout having it done there this weekend.

Great!! I'm going to give them a call and see how much it is for TL headlights. I'm guessing it won't deviate too much from $80 bucks cuz headlights are headlights...

Does this "generation one" place have a website? What's the address?

 

I had them clear out my headlights today. It took them approximatley 2 hours and a little bit. They charged me $120 due to my TL being their first and that it takes longer for cars that they have not worked on before. In any case, now that they have worked on my car, I'm sure they will lower their price slightly on you (other TL) guys/ gals. Here is the info:

silver tl, do you know if it leaks? i am interested in going to the place that you went to. The only problem is i'm afraid they don't do a good job (with consideration to eh leaking/fogging up problems). Have you tried washing your car yet to see if condensation gets into the lights? Please let me know. Thanks!

 

Hey, Anaheim is quite a long drive from Cupertino just to get your headlights cleared. Unless you've been watching too many of those TL type-s commercials of course.

You're going to drive from Cupertino!? Dayum.. that's going to be a long drive just to clear your headlights. BTW, for those that donn't know, Cupertino is up in the Bay Area. It's right next to San Jo.

Leaking problem... it has been only a day since I had it cleared so I can't tell you my final answer on it. However, it has been good so far. no fogging or leaking detected. And no, I don't live in Anaheim... but I drive to OC a lot for business. I live in Torrance.



My car is hecka dirty right now. And the shop told me to hold off washing my car for at least 24 hours. So I'll wait till this weekend to wash it and then take pix. Basically, it looks the same as the pix posted above. Except that my car is silver.
