It's a urethane film that gets applied like window tinting, and has energy absorbing characteristics that will supposedly protect your car in the event your hood meets a stone or pebble. I've been meaning to get it myself, but haven't had time to devote part of my weekend to the install, and the weather hasn't been coorperating either.

Got it on my TL, but I don't like the looks of it. Looks like a big line going across the middle of my hood. But, it has worked. Before we installed it, I was getting chips all over the hood & bumper.

I've seen it and it looks good. IMO they would be smart to make a noticible line across the edge of the material rather than trying to make it look invisible. Go ahead and acknowlege there is a bra here. You're not going to fool anybody, anyway.
I understand that installation is a ***** and real easy to f#*k up. We don't have any dealers closer than New Orleans, or I would have bought it (with wife's buy in, of course.

Here we go again! Use the search feature on the subject. Had it on MANY different cars & colors. Works great, no fade, protects great. Well worth it. Always had 3M type installed & warranteed through the dealer. See my sign line / link for pics. Line is bearly noticeable!
