Cleaning throttle???

So lately, I've noticed that my throttle seems like it's a little stuck. When barely steping on the gas, it won't go, but If I apply a bit more pressure, it'll then move. This happened with my old integra, and I cleaned the area where the flap closes and it was fine then. Can I do the same? Or what should I use to clean and how? Thanks.

yea man, all you have to do is remove the intake from the throttle body and spray it down with THROTTLE BODY cleaner, DO no use carburetor cleaners, thats way too harsh. be generous in the amount you use and wipe down the butterfly flap with a towel to get all the gunk out, and you can push a lint free cloth into the Intake Manifold to remove the Excess cleaner. then put everything back together and hold the gas pedal down as you start it so you can burn all the cleaner away. dont be afraid if it doesnt start correctly the first time, just keep pumping it. pm me if you need help, i did this last week and it made a BIG difference

some use carb cleaner- I prefer the specially designated Throttle Body Cleaner, same price- supposed to be safer around plastic
Engine off- remove whatever intake system- open throttle by hand at lever
Spray per directions- 3-5 seconds- close valve- spray again- open, spray, some crud should run out- wipe up what you can.
Reassemble and start engine, may run bad a few minutes- like when seafoamed
Pull fuse #8 clock backup fuse and reinsert- that resets the ECU
Try some seafoam in the tank and intake vac line.
Remove throttle cables- spray wd or silicone spray inside and work cable back and forth,
reassemble
test drive

Seafoam and a tooth brush work as well.

And I was going to use the solvent tank and be all cool and hi-tech about cleaning the intake manifold/EGR- just like in the acura bulletin.

then...the buffing wheel.

Someone beat me to posting on it but they are gen3 I believe

- seafoam and a toothbrush and I thought I was old school-
I guess I am just old

Actually i'd like to add using a plastic pinch or clothes pin to let the seafoam slowly drip into the intake manifold. The results under this application are noticibly better than simply letting the vacuum line slurp up the seafoam fluid.

its best if you can pour it into a old spray bottle and spray it into the TB while the car is running. Vac lines get none on the TB area. Its still recommended to let a vac line suck in a whole can. More of it will get to teh valves. Hand cleaning is still the best method.

threadjack-
read the thread "seafoamed the ol TL" for proper directions of dip and remove dip and remove vac line from can while using thumb to raise throttle
Smoke should be coming out the exhaust when the can is about empty- thats a job well done- wait 5 minutes and drive it hard
