CL-S 17" Rims on 2000TL

Just curious, will it pose a long term side effect on a 2000TL's suspension or anything in that regard if I were to put the CL-S rims on it? My dealer suggested me not to do it since the offset is different. Can someone give me some input on this matter 'cause I really loves the look of it.

I can't think of why it would effect your suspension, maybe, your shocks might not last as long because the lower profile tire on the CL-S wheels won't absorb impact as much as our stock 16" wheels.......As for the dealer, they'll always say sh*t like that, we have more than a few guys here that are running CL-S wheels with no probs (I think you have to change the tire size though) use the search feaature to find older post on this topic. IMO, I think it looks better on a TL than a CL!!!!!!!

There are a few people on here that have the CLS rims with stock tires and they say everything is fine. I think the craze with the CLS rim is that it changes the look of the car a lot without sacrificing the classy look of the TL. Just my two cents.

I certainly considered the CL-S Rims. Once you see what I ended up getting, you'll understand why I chose them, pics to come.
I think the reason people put the CLS wheels on their TLs is that it gives it a sporty look, while keeping the factory look. They look very stock, opposed to aftermarket wheels.

Yep, thats whay I got them. I really wanted 17" wheels, but still like the factory look. This will be the first time I changed the springs and lowered a car a bit I think it enhances the look of the car. Besides, if I don't like them and want to swap them later for after market, I only paid $450.00 for them and I will be able to sell my 16's to a CL-S owner next winter for around $350.00 for their winter tires. Not a bad mod for around a $100.00.

I understand that it gives your car originality but what happens when the TL-S comes out?? are you guys gonna buy new wheels or keep it?? I just wouldn't want people saying "look a TL-S wanna-be"!!
I still think it looks sweet though.......
