Where I can get the Chrome Shift plate and 02+ cup holders??

whats the 02 cupholder look like?


and the chrome shift plate all you have to do is dip it in, i think is, paint thinner, the chrome is under the paint on the shift plate

 

you can buy the 02 cupholders at any acura dealers that has a parts department. it should be around 8 dollars.

now for th chrome shift plate.. get graffiti remover or paint stripper and just spray or dip the whole shift plate itself in the remover liquid and jsut let it soak for a good 2-5 minutes. wash the stuff off and the paint should come right off.. then you'll have a shiny new chrome shift plate for your car

 

- chrome shift plate...like aaronnn said, but you only have to let it sit like 45 seconds = 1 minute
- the newer cupholders can be purchased at your local Acura dealership for less than $10. They are MUCH better than the original ones that came with the '99.

 

can i dip my '02 TLS shifter plate, and get the chrome result? it seems like it's plastic...

 

if you go to a place that can chrome plastic...or the '99 plate will fit. you just wont be able to move the shifter over to 1st gear at the bottom like you can on yours.

 

I just did mine and like ou sig, I let it sit a minute. I had to re-spray a few areas and let that sit for 30 seconds. The other advantage of doing this, in addition to it looking better, is that with the shift plate off, it allows you to clean the 'car boogies' that accumulate down in the gear indicators.

 

haha ya, I do that every few weeks now, cause I realized how much better it looked clean down in there.

 

i just stopped by the dealer and bought me a new '03 cupholder! WOW what an IMPROVEMENT! freakin cups dont rattle and spill allover the place. the things in the cupholder are actually staying still and wont have to worry! it costed me $5.51 at the parts department of an acura dealer.

yeah i cleaned out all that stuff under the shift plate.. damnnn its dirty down there!

 

No, only the 99s were chrome.

 

what do you have to do to get that shift plate off. I just started pulling on it and it seemed like it wanted to break so i said F-it.

 

grab a side/corner and pull up once you get a side/corner started move to the other side. its pretty strong and wont break
