Check engine, TCS and ABS lights on...

Hey sup guys

Last summer my check engine light would flash at high rpm/load and sometimes stay on, sometimes turn off. My car was stored for the winter, and i put it back on the road in April and it was fine at the time. A few weeks ago, it started doing that again. But now, the check engine light is constantly ON. I checked the code and it's #71 (same as last summer), which means Cylinder #1 Misfire. My spark plugs have been changed already so I know that ain't the problem.

Also, my TCS and ABS lights came ON a few days ago, and turn off the next day. But then, the day after, they both lit up and now they won't go away.

So basically my gauge cluster looks looks like a Christmas tree with all those lights...

I checked alldata.com and there is a TSB about TCS/ABS lights ON, along with the check engine light. I wonder if that TSB is related to my problem?

That's the TSB i'm talking about:

98-037 FEB 00 Brakes/Traction Control - ABS/TCS Lamp ON/DTC's Set

Found it on:

http://www.alldata.com/TSB/01/99010926.html

One last thing, lately my car as been acting weird at idle. The idle is sometimes rough. I wonder if that's also related to a TSB on alldata.com:

03-006 MAR 03 Engine Controls - Idle Speed Inspection

Any help/advice would be very appreciated!

-Justin

my guess is that the code #71 is triggering those lights. you may have a bad coilpack on cyl 1

How about the coil on that same cylinder, that can cause a misfire too. I'd check that , repalce if that coil, reset the engine light and go from there.
Its true that code could trigger the TCS,ABS light to come on so id take care of the misfire first. Good luck with that.

JAYCEE why would you bump a 1 year old thread. I would of thought the guy fixed it by now, which he did.

Pretty funny.
