Hey guys I went to autozone and got my car scanned and its my EGR. I plan on cleaning it tomorrow and it didnt throw any other code, but for some reason my tcs light is on also. Is this related or is it something else and its just not throwing a code?

 

The TCS will come on with the CEL a lot of times in the TL. It's just the way Honda designed it.

 

were u having stalling problems after restarting ur car??

 

the TCS light comes on alot of times when the CEL light comes on. There isnt any thing else wrong. Just the way honda designed it

 

thanks guys I just cleaned my egr which was sooooo clogged and it was a breeze. NO more CEL for me at least for now.

 

Did you clean the upper Intake Manifold also?

Damn my CEL just came back on with the same code. I cleaned the upper manifold real good too. I cleaned the lower mani as good as i could see. Do i Have to remove the lower manifold also to get to the other side or do you guys just clean where its visiable? Please help me i hate looking at the CEL

 

the lower does not get removed. just the upper. the lower only has the passage that goes from the egr to the upper im. That if clogged would need to be cleaned (by removing the egr itself)

 

how do you remove the egr itself?

 

take the upper im off and make sure every thing (all the holes), 7 of them and the egr passages on the top plate are clog free, then unbolt it. and clean the passage to the egr out.

 

Did you reset the computer?

 

yes i reset the computer but I'm gonna try to clean the egr itself out this weekend. HOpefully it works

 

Did you clean the upper IM cover and the 6 holes in the IM? Did you also clean out the main egr passage?
