ever since i did the first oil change (myself), my check engine light hasnt turned off...i had my 2nd oil change done at a shop n they tried to reset it but it came back on...my homeboy gotta 00 CL-S with the same problem, n my other homeboy gotta 98 accord lx with the same problem too...any suggestions, comments, anything?? i hear alotta people say "that shit happens to hondas when they get around that 100,000 mile mark"...oh yea also, theyre all around that 100 G mile marker

 

Go to Autozone and have them read the codes. The CEL is on due to some malfunction, not because you car has more than 100k on the clock.

 

First Is it the Check engine light or the Maint required light.??

If its a Check Engine Light why drive around with it on. That means something is wrong. Go some place that reads codes and find out

 

yea thats my bad i just noticed this on the way home...it is the MAINTENANCE REQUIRED light not the check engine...but today when i turned the car on the check engine like did come on for about a minute or two then turned off n stayed off

 

for real though, can someone help on this???

 

As for the Maint required light its in your manual on how to reset it as well.
It means nothing more than its time for a oil change (when properly reset) Its designed to come on full at 7500 miles.
With the car off,Press and hold the Trip and Reset light with 1 hand, while holding them BOTH in turn your key
to the RUN position (not start but run) and continue to hold them in till they turn off. It takes about 10 seconds.
If you turn the key and then press teh buttons in you will change the Outside Temp settings
