Check engine light

Newbie here. I have a 99 TL and the check engine light is on. Is there anyway I can check what the code is myself. I had a 99 Nissan max and there was a procedure I used to check what the code was. I was wonder if there was 1 for the TL

Nope. Go to a auto zone or like store, they do free code readings

Depends. Do you have a code reader or something like a CarChip? If so, you can both read the code and reset it. Otherwise, head to a place like AutoZone as kris recommended.
