You might want to check if your car has been checked for the ignotion recall cause i had the same problem i took it to my mechanic and he put the computer to it and told me that there was a fault in my ignition i took it to the dealer they replaced it and problem fixed...so u might wanna give that a try

re:Ignition recall
I've had that replaced like a month or two ago when they sent out those warranty reminders ... not sure if that's the cause .. Somebody else suggested that i take it to AutoZone and get the ECA code from the computer they can hook up to my acura ... Any other suggestions besides that ?

First thing --- always make sure you tighten/rotate the gas cap at least three clicks after refueling. Not having the gas cap on properly alone can ignite your 'check engine' light. If that was the cause, the light will shut off on its own after a week or two...it will eventually go off though after driving around for a while.
I actually had this problem as well after refueling and knew for sure that it was not due to the gas cap - and found out that I actually had a small EVAP leak (emissions)! Super-expensive repair!! :smackhead ...And I'd only gotten the car six weeks prior! Grrr!

Well, I had this prob only six weeks after getting the '99 ---- just recently. When the dealer told me that it was an evap leak, I was like: "okay...so what will happen if I don't fix it right now?" -- so I could weigh my options. He said: "well, it would affect your fuel efficiency, and well, you'd be polluting the environment!" So then I said, "Yeah........so????????????!!!!!!!!"

From the Dealer
Guys Thanks for the valuable input ... I took it to the AutoZone and I'd recommend that everyone should do as a first step to get the code out for the problem... Anyways , the code that I was getting from the car was P0420 and thats an Emmission recall problem for EGR system
(http://www.alldata.com/TSB/01/99010926.html).
Valeo , tell your friend to check with dealer b/c same EGR problem exists with Hondas as well .. StreetSpirti, If you are having the same problem , this has a warranty of upto 150K Miles . so if your car has <150k miles on it they should fix it for free. Call Acura at 1800 382 2238 to confirm that...
And yes the cause of the failure probably might have been the crappy gas from RaceTrac .. Never gonna go to them again .. I had noticed my car knocking as well whenever I filled over there .. Not anymore
