Check Engine on at 6000miles
Check Engine on at 6000miles
Is this normal? It blinks a couple of times when I start the car and then goes away. Is this just informing me to do my oil change at 7500 miles? Any help appreciated. Thanks Hector

You can reset it at anytime by yourself. As Beiruty stated... INSTRUCTIONS ARE IN THE MANUAL...
No need to have a dealer change the oil if you are comfortable with doing it yourself. The dealer may balk at the Mobil 1 oil... they supposedly have service bulletins that only allow them to use HONDA 5W20 oil???
I reset my light at 5K miles (before the light ever came on) because I had already changed my oil. I now have 9,000 miles and the light has yet to come on. It must reset back to zero regardless of what the mileage is when you reset it.

Thats not the Check Engine Light its the Maitenace Required Light.
But as siad thats normal for it to come on at that mileage. Just read your owners manual on how to reset it if you do not take it to the dealer for service.

You have many choices, Dino, blended or full synthetic in weights 0w-30, 5w-20 and 5w-30, the choice is yours. A search will get all the info you ever wanted

Acura's recommendation on the TL is 5w-20. It should indicate this on your oil cap as well as in the manual. I believe the manual also states that 5w-30 may be used... but check it to verify....
