check engin and TCS in winter

Hello every one. I've been browsing this forum for a long time now but have not found a solution for my problem this time.

Basically whats been happening is this.... it occured last winter as well but seems to be worse this winter...

when it is cold outside (-5 degrees celsius and below) and my car has been sitting for a while (over night) and i go to start it in the morning this is what happenes...

it starts a little rough, revs jump higher than normal than come down quick. the check engin light and TCS light both stay on solid. the car will go in to reverse, and D3 and below. when i put it into D4, it doesnt show up on the dash and when i put it into tipronic, it doesnt show up either. it will drive in reverse and D3 and lower but i will have to give it more gas than usual. i will have to wait a while for it to warm up fully, turn it off, and back on for it to go into D4 and drive normally. now it will drive normally with the exception of when i brake and come to a ctop or rev it up and release the gas, it will rev very low (around 200rpm) and seem like it wants to stall, but has never stalled.

i have no clue what is causing this and it is kind of concerning me. i have a 99tl at 270 000km with a transmission put in by acura a couple of months ago. the spark plugs were changed last summer as well..

any insight or thoughts would be greatly appreciated..

thanx

try some fuel cleaner at max cleaning dose- thats usually 1 bottle to 1/4 tank gas.
Tiptronic SS mode wont work at cold temps- not sure the temp -was reading it recently in owner book
What brand spark plugs did you use?

The RPM jumping is probably they IAC valve.

But first off you should get your codes read. We can much better help you with those.

well, i got the codes read last winter when this happened and if i recall correctly it was just comming up as a general computer error or somehting...nothing specific... if i disconnect the battery and reconnect it, the problem doesnt occur again untill i start it in really cold weather...

you probably got the codes "read" at a local shop without a honda scanner..

thus far you have a honda specific code stored in the memory.

take it to the dealer
