dude...yokohama HS4, or H4S...can't remember which one
great tires, like 70 bucks each so nearly half the cost of the stock michelins
they corner well, have nice traction in dry and wet conditions and are pretty quiet
i got mine at discount tire....not sure if they have any locations in cali, but they give free rotations/balancing for the life of the tire
check em out

I ran my car with Energy MXV4 Plus tires for a while when I blew out the RS-A on a nail, which is the stock tire on the TL. That tire is fairly quiet I guess, but it absolutely sucks for dry and lateral traction. Even the RS-A were better. And the Energy MXV4Plus would constantly spin on light snow. I took off those tires, and put on the yokos, and was like night and day. Much better dry grip, way better lateral grip in the twisties, and galaxies better snow grip. (And cheaper too).
FWIW, I managed to get 40,000 miles out of my yoko AVS db tires (must be the religeous tire rotations), and I drive pretty spiritedly. Including occasional burnouts

If I were you...I'd highly consider moving up to a 225/55-16 size of tire. Tire selection for the 205/60-16 is rather slim & 225/55-16 matches the stock size almost perfectly.
You can get the Kumho ASX in the 225/55 size and should cost around $80 @ tirerack. IMO...that is the best value tire out there since that is an all-season tire with a treadwear rating of 420...which should last you twice as long as a summer tire.

Try out Americas tire. I just replaced my 01 tl Michelins this AM.
I put Yokahama YK420's on it. They are not even broken in yet and I love them.
Infinitely superior to the MXV4's.
I've had a set on a Camry for over a year and they have performed very well.
While I was there I saw Faulken (sp?) tires for a VERY low ($70 something?)
in the OEM size. Consumer Reports rated it very well. I wanted to plus size
mine and went with the YK420's.
If you can spend a little extra I recommend the YK's in a plus size. 215/55's
Same diameter. Ride is improved, handling VERY much improved, and I think
they look nicer as well.
