Cool Changing Trim in TL-S

Has anyone been able to get the dealer to change the bowling ball trim on teh ebony interior to the wood trim. I just bought my TL-S and the Dealer told me in could not be done with the trim that is in the doors. Anybody heard otherwise?

If you figure out how I would be willing to swap trim with you from a 2001 TL.

This was discussed in earlier posts. It can be done, but it is COSTLY.. Mainly due to the labor involved in taking the door panels apart. Best bet is to learn to live with it, or get the parchment interior if it's that ugly to you. It actually started to grow on me. And pictures definately don't do it justice... You need to see it in person. It seems to blend in well with the interior. I've also seen similar ebony trim on some of the AMG and Jaguar models (although they more than likely use real wood, not simulated)

Does this mean that no one on this board has ever removed the "wood" trim off of the doors?

I have a silver TL, and thought it might look good either painting the wood trim satin silver, or giving them the brushed aluminum look.

That black wood trim looks good with the dark interior. Silver/Black/Agean Blue w/Ebony and Black wood trim would be the only ones that look good.
But I hope they don't allow that on parchment, that would be nasty.

I recall someone trying to remove the door panel wood pieces but don't think they were successful.

My dealer says they can do it, but it is pricey. They charge $1750 since they need 4 other door panels.
