changing 2000 taillights to 2002/3 ones

Hi, I do not like my stock amber taillights on my 2000 TL. Is it possible for me to buy some 02/3 taillights on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2002-...QQcmdZViewItem)
and switch them with mine? Has anyone done this before? Is it a difficult process? Do I have to move the lights inside or anything, or just switch the cover? And does anyone have instructions to do this and/or suggestions?

Thanks!

This is one of the easiest things to do, it might have taken me 20 min so go for it.

Take old tail lights out - put 02-03 tail lights in.

100$ and you want cheaper

this is IMO the cleanest and least expensive mod for all 1999-2001 Tls

hey guys, another question:

a friend told me that i needed to trim the edges of the 03 lights because they are slightly a different size. if so, is this hard to do?

also, i don't need to buy new bulbs or anything right? my bulbs now work fine?

thanks!

you wont need to trim or anything its a direct fit basically if the ones from ebay dont come w/ bulbs you can swap the bulbs from your old tail lights and no you wont need any harnesses the only diffrence between the two tail lights are looks everything thing else is practically the same when you pop your trunk your going to find those things that help your cargo net just unscrew the ones near your tail lights, take out the trunk liner and your good everything else should be common sense good luck

You may or may not need a new harness. If the lamp assemblies don't come with them, the turn signal socket might be different. I did the same swap a few months ago. I bought the lamp assemblies (no wire harnesses included) from Acura and I ended up having to buy the harnesses because the turn signal socket was different. The bulb for the socket was also different. I think it was a 7528A or something like that.

Well I ended up using my original harness and just electric taping one of the sockets into the tail lamp. I just used the harness that came with my 99-01 Tail lamp and voilah

I considered doing that too but since it gets very hot around here during the summertime, the tape would probably just fall off when the glue melts. That and I don't like to rig stuff up if I don't have to.
