Change Fell behind Change Holder
Change Fell behind Change Holder
Well, I overfilled my change holder and a coin fell behind the hinge. The holder will NOT close now. I know this is a stupid question but... Is there an easy way to remove the change holder? I tried popping it out but that does not seem to work. I also tried to jam my hand underneath the holder to remove the coin and that did not work (Not enough rool to get my fingers in)
Thanks in Advance for any help

There's a little plasitc cover that can be taken off (to expose some electircal adaptor for diagnostics I think) under the change holder. Anyways, when a quarter fell in behind the change holder I was able to get to it with a pen when I removed that cover.
However, one time I think a penny or a smaller coin fell in and I couldn't get to it at all, and it jammed the coin holder so that it wouldn't close all the way. Solution: I told my service rep during my next schedulled maint. and played dumb.
They took care of it and told me to be careful not to put too much in the coin holder.
Hope this helps.

I have since stopped using that as a coin holder. I just put all of my coins in the tray with the seat warmers. It was too much of a hassle to remove the coins that slipped to the back. At first I was freaking out that some pennies actually fell all the way down. It doesn't seem to have done any damage (knock on wood!).

I have also stopped using the regular coin holder, and use one of the cupholders instead.

I just took it to the dealer and they did it as warranty work along with my oil change and bumper alignment.

Bumper alignment!?!?
Is that part of normal maintnance?
Fess up, wakkolio! What are you doing with your car??
As for the "not an ashtray," I think I may have a solution that will allow you to use it to hold coins - hassle free.
I'll try it soon when I have some free time and let you guys (and gals, of course) know how it works out.

One of the clips near the fender was loose, so it kinda buldged out.
