Cat to Straight Pipe on Ebay
JasonT posted this originally on A-CL.com. Anyone ever tried a straight pipe on the TL? I could have swore I saw the TL in the auction somewhere in the A-TL gallery...

I forgot the name but that pic is of a members car from Florida....I think.
A test pipe is a test pipe. You have pros and cons using it.
I would be worried about the quality and fit of the pipe.

Looks legit to me. You realize that your exhaust fumes are going to stink when you have it on right? And that is not legal in any state to drive in public. If cops see you with that on thats major $$$.

Heh, I have no intentions of purchasing this. I am curious to know if we would have any potential gains from running a straight pipe.

Isn't it illegal in California to have vehicle running without cat installed ? And the seller is even from California. Weird ....
Anyway, help the environment by having the cat on. At least you are doing the earth a favor.![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Just my $0.02
Cheers !!!

And I believe it's illegal to run without a cat in all 50 states, not just California, assuming you're not using it for off-road use only.

Not a Blowhole
Modern cats are not the power robbers they once were - very little or no gain, and perhaps a loss without them. Exhausts are now systems, and volumetric efficiency is the name of the game. A test pipe could very well reduce flow rates by dropping exhaust gas temps - who knows? The guy on eBay is now a flow engineer?
Mr. Hyde is right - it will kick on the MIL light and set a code. Do not do it.
