car wont start

Got in the car for work this morning and nothing. SO, it has battery power, radio and gauges come on but no cranking at all, not a sound, . I thought it might not have been fully in park , thats when i noticed even with the key in the on posiiton the shifter wont leave park. I dont know if it just coincidence but i ran a can of seafoam through last night, did i maybe fould a sensor. or do you think it is my starter?

Even if you fouled a sensor, the car would try to start.
Do you get a blinking light in the shape of a key? That's the immobilizer system, it's not seeing the chip in the key.
What happens if you try to start the car with the headlights on? If they go out, the batt's dead. The radio only takes a little bit of juice, starting takes a lot.

I agree, it sounds like a dead battery.

I'd say dying battery as well. Happened to me quite a few times until I finally replaced the original stock battery.

If its not cranking at all or leaving park there could be a few things. Try taking the key to the release lever on the side of the shifter and manually put it in park. See if the car will start with it there. Also check the brake fuse.

sorry for the long delay, but this might help some one else out in the future - the "ground" end of the negative battery cable, attached to the car frame, came off. It must have snapped when i removed the negative cable from the battery to do some work.
