Car went in today for repairs.

Everything that needed to be repaired will be repaired, nothing spared.
1 ball joint,overheating problem(but hasn't overheated in over a week.),oil press switch,rear main seal,timing belt/water pump,valve adjustment,rough idle rotors and pads and anything else we'll find. Let's just hope the bill won't be astronomical!!!Last but not least,going in for a detail.

Those two aren't normally in the vicinity of each other....

Good luck with it, ready for another 100k of use!

That's going to be WAYYYY north of a $1000 so you better have something soft behind you when you see the bill and faint.

but it will last you much longer after all is said and done. congrats on being able to shell it out though.. i do mine piece by piece lol.

If you took it the Acura dealership...my guess would be north of $3000 easy!

I had a rear main seal leak that was replace under warrenty ($1400 if i had payed out of pocket)

100k Tuneup (i.e. timming/tennsion belt/water pump/ spark plugs) $1000

That is almost $2500 without the other repaired done.

It would be a good idea to replace any bad motor mounts when they replace the rear main seal! (no additional cost via labor)

I told him to check all mounts and replace them if needed. Can't wait to drive it after it's all said and done.

My quote for timing belt water pump seals and what not is 750$.They replace anything they can while they're at it.

My local "import" shop charges 65 an hour for labor. Is that reasonable?

That's pretty fair. Most indy shops start there. The major shops and dealers are usually $100+/hr.

NGK Iridium IX plugs. Car rides like new, literally!!I haven't installed the brakes yet.The mechanic told me the egr port was entirely clogged. He let the whole intake soak up while he was working on the car. I noticed blue smoke when i accelerated ,but he said it's gonna go away by tomorrow.I guess some cleaner and oil fell inside the cylinders. Now the car is super smooth.

may as well change them with this service-
they are all critical parts and with over 100k miles and 10 years on them.....suspect~

I would change all the rubber radiator hoses too
Those blow out and you have a major problem

I changed the thermostat first when my car started overheating, that didn't solve the problem. The oil pressure switch was leaking and the temp sensor n was causing the overheating so i had to replace it.
