Post Is the car supposed to do that???

Hey everyone... just got a certified '99 TL... was wondering, when you're at a complete stop and you gun the car, do you feel a mild bump like the drive shaft on the front left wheel is engaging? I wasn't sure if it's typically like that w/ the TL's or if mine is just f*&%ed up... doesn't do it when i'm at a slow roll, then gunning it, nor when I let the car roll first before stepping on the gas... I would really appreciate your thoughts... Thanks!

Maybe they didn't "certify" the front left caliper?

Sounds like the front tires slipping and the TCS taking over to me... This is how it is supposed to act, that way you don't end up screetching your tires.

But I don't usually try to gun it too often from a complete stop.

There probably is a few ppl here who may have experience that.. just wait, you'll find your answers soon enough.

Oh yeah, welcome by the way!

Not 100% sure it's coming from the front left wheel, but from my best observations, it seems as though it is...

TCS has been off all the time, so unless it's coming on w/o me telling it too, i wouldn't think that would be the case...

Thanks! Keep it coming! And thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

remember that the TCS is default ON. When the light is off, that means the tcs is on. When you press the button, and the indicator light is on your dash, that means you have turned the tcs OFF. But when you floor it from a stop and your tires spin, the tcs will flash, indicating that it is working and trying to stop wheel slippage. Did you follow all that? hehehe. Yeh, kinda confusing, but thats how it is. welcome jumpman.

Wow! that is confusing! okay.. so here's the deal as I understand it from your explanation...

If the TCS light is NOT present on my dash, it means TCS is ON?

If the TCS light IS present on my dash, it means TCS is OFF?

"head spinning..."

Please confirm that the above is accurate!

Thanks!!!

I just read the manual myself and confirmed... it blew my mind!

So you guys think that's what the mild bump I'm feeling is??? the TCS engaging?

Thanks again!

It's so when it engages you can see it flash.

If it is on all the time you know it's swithed off.

Clifford Alarms have a light that stays on when the alarm is off and stays off when it is on but disarmed and then blinks when it is armed. Sort of the same concept.
