Car shut off while driving
Car shut off while driving
I was driving home today and literally around the corner from my house my car shut off and wouldn't start back. It has a full tank of gas. So no gas isn't the issue. When I turn the key nothing on the instrument panel lights up, the starter doesn't click or anything. Thankfully I was walking distance from home and just pushed the car home. Any idea of what my problem can be? This is totally random and has never happened before. I checked voltage on the battery and it's good as well. Please help AZ, I need my car to at least last the rest of the year lol. I know it's old and has had its good days but for an 03 with less than 120k miles I shouldn't be experiencing this issue. I can deal with a blown tranny. Something leads me to think it's an electrical issue
Yes everything is good on that part. When you turn the ignition switch to on you don't hear the fuel pump and nothing lights up on instrument panel

Yes brake lights work, last week I literally had to change the brake light switch. I am starting to think it's ignition related because the car has power and once any of my keys are inserted it makes the sound that a key is in while the door is open. I'm trying to figure out if it is a simple fix or if I have to just get it towed to my mechanic and have him deal with the issue
Never mind on diy I found this old thread from an og

It could also be a bad electrical connection, like bad power cables?
I'm surprise the ignition switch didn't fix your problem, my baaaddd.
Besides the car dying near your home, what were you and/or the car doing when the car die?
