Talking This Car Rocks!

I've been on this forum for about 2 months (mostly reading, sometimes contributing) and I've heard all sorts of interesting and creative complaints, about everything from ignition placement to upholstry buttons to paint chips (Acura's fault?), and I certainly have my own wish list for the vehicle, but at around 850 miles so far, all I can say is:

THIS CAR IS AWESOME!!!

Regardless of any problems that anyone has undergone with the car I think the majority will agree with you there. I do. Enjoy her to the fullest, just watch out for those cars with the light racks on top...they'll ruin your day in a heartbeat!

Listen, just becuase my tranny died, does not mean I don't love the car. It really IS awesome. Just imagine getting back into the car after 5 weeks, and there you are, TL-S, Headers, Sways, Springs, and lots more. The power was unreal. I could not help but smile.

The dealer shined it all up, and people are again checking it out when I cruise by. I can't think of any other car I would want right now. it's great.

<crossed-fingers here> I am still going for 200,000 miles!!

No way! I just think that the car is great. However, those owners who poo-poo the tranny problem may soon find themselves in the same boat as some of us. WE have to take the good with the bad. The bad is that there may be an inherant problem with the early (March-April) TL-S Trannys, the good is that they must have found the problem as there is now a flood of new trannys for those of us who have been waiting!

If they fix what is broke, what more could you ask for?

The complainers who howl about the sqeaks, rattles, and bowling ball plastic should not be considered on the same level as those who have lost their cars for up to 6 weeks due to a hard failure!!!!

Please don't tell me about the likelyhood of March/April TL-S's as the source of tranny problems! 14,000 miles so far and still running strong (fingers crossed, of course).

BTW, I LOVE MY CAR....drive something else, and you really start to appreciate how awesome the TL-S is!

I do appreciate my car, but yet everyday I wonder different it would be if I got that 5-speed IS300 instead. I guess I'll never know...

I am not a TLS nor IS300 owner, but here is my opinion. The IS300 is a nice small car. Handling is great but it doesn't look like an expensive car. The TLS and CLS looks stylish and although they might not be Lexus, I would that one over the IS300. I don't like the small interior, and would sacrifice some handling for comfort.

hey, the squeaks/rattles are annoying.....but not nearly as bad as a f**ked up tranny. I don't think I could stand to live w/o my car for more than a couple of days. Oh, and the TL is amazing!!

I know I am new but should we start a poll and find out which month they purchased their TL and have tranny problems. I would like to find out did Acura fixed the tranny in the later month.

food for thought!!!

It is true, this TL-S is simply a quality well buitl car.

I took delivery in late march 01, and now at 31,000 km, I have not had any problem at all. I did my regular checkup at the dealer for oil change and nothing else to complain.

Acura compared to GM, it is like comparing steak to hamburger...
