TL-P: 225hp @ 5600 / 216lb-ft @ 4700
TL-S: 260hp @ 6100 / 232lb-ft @ 3500-5500

.. the redline on the Type-S is 6900 while on the TL-P is 6300.

Right. I did see those numbers posted earlier in the thread. I guess I mis-read one of the replies.

Hey patrick, I got respect for a man, that isn't afraid of challenge if they know they are going to lose. Anytime, Anywhere..."I live my life a quarter-mile at a time" (which is the corny line I ever heard) hahahaha

LOL! If you ever come up here (or if I ever go down to where you are), sure, bring it on! It's all fun right, and besides, the winner buys the loser a beer at the local pub!

Not to slam the P owners out there, but 35hp seems like a LOT to make up for in mods. My guesses are intake+5hp, exhaust+12(maybe) headers ??? pulleys+10 hp? Most important question: Has anybody dynoed their mods?

Good question, Woody. I've seen many Type S dynos, but hardly any TL-P's. I don't think I've seen any with mods.

Hey `ILL*TL, where are you from? I grew up in Palatine! I lived up there the first 18 years of my life and went to William Fremd HS.

Has Bigman ever dynoed his modded TL-P? Anyways, the next mod I plan on doing is UR crank pulley and catback exhaust (probably sometimes this summer if funds are available). I'll definitely post dyno results if I get these two mods done.

I had a chance to read the TL service manuals when I brought my car in for transmission change. The 4th and 5th gears' gear ratios are also different for the TL-S tranny and the non-S tranny.

I was 18, so I moved with my parents when my dad got a new job. Nothing special...

I think that most people who relocate here do so because they got a job down here.

I noticed after installing my headers, and waiting for the ECU to adjust, that my redline increased to nearly 7K. Any other TL-P owner with headers notice this too?

Did the headers attack your gauges with whiteout? How could your redline possibly change? Do you mean the throttle cutoff? Do you actually hit it enough to notice? :cringe:

And why do the -S owners keep attacking -P owners..focus your energy on a car that isn't 99.9% the same. We're just trying to make our car perform well. You should be delighted we're using the -S as a benchmark.

I don't think the "S" owners are attacking the "P" owners. The title of the thread is how can I get close to "S" performance? You guys ("P" owners) aren't hearing what you want to hear so your getting sloppy in your responses. No one is attacking anyone, bottom line, it's cheaper to just trade up if it's that serious. It's not like we own Vette's or something. Come on, it's a four door family car guys!

she's right!!!!

Economically it would make a lot more sense to trade in your current TL-P, for a TL-S, and then start modding. the 35HP gain will help a lot...
