can anyone educate me regarding the noise of the intake during WOT
what's the physics and mechanisms behind the noice that a short ram intake makes during WOT? is it the tube? the filter? or what? If you listen carefully you will hear some sort of a rythm that the pistons make...

Most of the noise is due to the engine sucking in the air as the piston is in it's intake stroke.

well first off, the factory airbox has a big ass resonator (silencer) attached to it, so even if u just take that off, you'll hear the sound. plut at WOT your engine is switched over to the other VTEC lobe, has the throttle body butterfly flaps open all the way (hence WOT) and is going at high revs.. u hear the engine plus all the air being sucked in is more audible cause there's no resonator

I need a definition
...for WOT. I know it stands for Wide Open Throttle, but I don't know exactly what that means. I expect this is a state of the engine where you get the maximum amount of air into the engine (i.e. pedal to the metal). Does this only happen at some RPMs and above? I'm just a little confused as to how long WOT lasts.

Air ----> | ----> engine
Half way: "normal driving"
Air ----> / ----> engine
Wide Open Throttle: "racing"
Air ----> --- ----> engine
It happens at all RPM's as long as you push the gas all the way.
