Thumbs up CAI survives Rain and Puddles!

As some of you know, I have CAI and the fog holes cut out thus exposing the filter (some considering it dangerous). Today, it rained pretty hard all day and I've been out the last 4 hours or so shopping and I drove like 76 miles around the DC Metro. So far so good. This is twice I drove my car in the rain like a mad man! I know I still face the potential of hydrolock, but IMO only if I submerge my car in water (and I'm not that crazy). I think UWTL had concerns about the CAI in the Seattle weather, well I'm fine so far. Now I can't wait till it snows so I can tackle that. IMHO, the engine heat is hot enough to dissolve all bits of water getting close to it. Einstein, is this possible?
Well, my next post on this topic will be after I go through snow or if my car hydrolocks . Hopefully, I'll just be posting about the snow!

hahah.. keep us updated throughout the winter time.. then I will decide if I wanna go with CAI. But it seems like it hella loud at WOT. . is short ram quieter? or no difference? Sound is not a big concern, safety of my car is the first concern! I hope u guys liked my story against GS400.

Well Driving in the same weather as AC today I am now confident that unless it sounds really loud I will be buying a intake after the DC gathering.

UWTL, the sound is loud and I'm not going to try to mislead you cuz I kinda sounds like a V8 when you hit like 4500RPM+ otherwise it sounds stock. I love seeing the look on other people's face when I gun it. They have the look of WTF is under that hood

MToker, so far so good concerning the weather. By the time we have the DC meet, I should have my 18's and headers installed. You can check out the sound of the intake then!

Whalt's this bypass? From the few posts I've read that mention it I'm guessing it's a knob you pull (like the old manual chokes)to close off the CAI and draw from the heated engine compartment? How close am I on this?

I would not want a funky looking knob installed in my car, if that's how you do it.

I don't have it and I don't think I need it. So far so good! MToker, you can take my baby out for a spin when we have the DC Meet!
