Has any one in this group had a chance to located and replace the filters for the airconditioning and heating system? I understand there are two of them and was wondering where they are located and how to access them.

Also I would like to know where to purchase the Inspire rear deck shade that some of you have on your TL Type S.

 

The AC filter are behind the glove box. You need the HELMS service manual to do the change!

 

Curious, has anyone found if we can subsitute charcoal filters with better filtration, and odor removal?

 

David, these instructions were posted a while back. They seem to work well enough to get the job done.

open the glove box. on the right side you will see a shock holding the glove box in place, remove the screw
see those tabs in each top corner of the box that prevent it from falling forward? remove those by putting pressure on the back side of them (this is a little hard the first time)
remove 2 screws at the bottom corners on the outside of the glove box (one in each corner) the box should come out.
cut the tabs (i think they’re labeled) for the square shaped plastic. replace the filters. put it all back together
