Question A/C Compressor surge at stoplight?

Guys----I noticed a "surge" while parked at a stoplight that is a minor nuisance. If I sit long enough it will try to leap ahead an inch. The first time it happened, I looked behind to see if someone had "tapped" me as that is exactly how it feels. When I asked my service guy, he said "oh, that's the A/C idle speed up". It maybe that but seems like it does it too much if the car moves ahead.........does anyone else have this ? My other cars have A/C and don't do this and I'd expect this car to be more refined than most. Thanks in advance, QuickRick.

I think this might be in the FAQ already. It's a common problem that most everyone here has experienced. When the compressor kicks on at idle the RPMs jump up and those ponies just want to go....

Yep, it is the A/C. According to Acura it's not a "problem" but just a characteristic of the car.
