Buying a TL...mileage questions

Alright, for a 1999 Acura TL, how many miles is too many? The car needs to be able to give me at least 6-7 years of strong going, with putting on approximately 75,000 miles in 6-7 years. Is this too much to hope for or will this auto keep me going. I am currently looking at one with about 67,000 miles on it. Is that too many? In addition, is there any warranty other than the 7 year / 100k mile power train warranty that was extended to this model?

Thanks!

1. no other warrantys besides the 100k power train.

2. 67,000 is not too much. i think u could get 5-6 years easy out of it~!

Sorry to ask this again, but what are the differences between the 1999, 2000, and 2001 models (cosmetically, mechanically, etc)? I think I am set on a 1999 SSM TL, but the tranny problems worry me (as soon as the 7 years pass, with my luck it will die). How much would it cost out of pocket to pay for a tranny swap, etc?

If you do a search, you'll find the detailed info on the board. The Cliffs' Notes version:

1999: 4-speed transmission. Less likely to fail, but finally included in the 7yr/100k warranty plan. You'd do fine with a 1999 TL, it will last, just ask others on this board.

2000-2001: 5-speed transmission, the one that is causing conniptions on this board. Otherwise, no major changes.

2002: New look, fogs on base model, TL-S model bows. "200 improvements" or something like that as it was billed.

my 2 cents,,, buying an older used car is hard and you should'nt base it on what the odometer says, you want to vary in several factors to get a idea of the cars"life" before it was cleaned up to be sold. example, if thoughs 67k miles were city miles i'd rather have 100k open freeway miles. if the car has navi look at destination history to see where the car was driven to,or if it has power memory seats, hit the memory buttoms to get a feel for what size driver owner it,IE little old lady, bigger guy, "gangsta leaner"(I'll let you draw your own conclusion on this one)
but anyway good luck and if your not real mechanicly inclined ask a good friend/family member to join you.
