Talking buying a new 2001 TL. Is this a good deal?

Hi everyone,

I just agreed to buy a blk/blk 2001 TL w/o Nav. Total Drive out was $31,000 including accessories and TT&L. Here whats included.
Under body spoiler
Rear spoiler
Total Gold Pkg(grill,emblems,exhaust tips)
floor mats
wheel locks
2 year/24,000 miles free maintenance
free loaner car
5 year protective sealant coat
2 free roundtrip airline tickets in US

Was this a good deal or could it have been for less?

I believe it was an okay deal....30,000 flat would have been a good deal, because alot of the members here that got a 2001 w/o nav got theirs for around 27,000, which means with all the accessories at dealer cost, plus the airline tickets, the paint protection, loaner car should have out to about 3000 dollars which would be 27,000+3000=30,000, but none the less it was a fair deal...btw welcome

Welcome!
It sounds good.
Blk/Blk is a very nice color.

But what i don't understand is how can they make you pay more for free maintenace for 2 years, free loaner car, and free plane tickets.

But a few people have gotten the TL non/Nav for as low as 26500-27000. Add the spoiler(600) and underbody(1200), the gold pkg(don't know how much this is). So it may be about the same.

What is the sealant for? The exterior only?

Thanks for the warm welcome.
The car was 26995. (under body spoiler, rear wing, gold pack) was $2095. TT&L was $1910.
I was told the protective coating was a 5 year paint coating on the outside and leather protectant for the inside.

OH, i didn't want the NAV. The car is for my wife and I need both of her eyes on the road and not fidgeting with a screen. (not be mean, It more of a safety concern for others on the road).

I agree (top). sometimes cool devices on cars can and will distract the driver from paying attation to the road ahead.

I was quoted $27k for an '01. Don't fall for that 5 year paint sealant. NOTHING can last for 5 years I don't car who says what. The best waxes usually need to be re applied 4 times a year and monthly if possible. We used to sell a sealant at my detail shop that claimed 3 years, we only would gaurantee it for 1, and that was only with weekly washings. Most of the other stuff you have is costmetic and if you can live with out it can save a lot.

Don't sweat it anymore. All the hard work grinding away on the deal is done. Now it's time to enjoy your new TL. Xenon lights, Photochromatic mirror, climate control, Sportshift. Ah, you and your wife are really going to enjoy the new wheels. Welcome to the forum.

No matter what you paid, welcome aboard man. In regards to forums in general, this one is quite possibly the best one I've been on. You'll feel right at home here. BTW waypoint, I reside in H-town too (Spring actually, but who's counting). Looks like the Houstonians are pulling they're own around here.
