Angry Burnt-out tail lights??

Who here has had to replace their brake/parking or 3rd brake lamps in their '99 3.2TL?

So far I have had to replace all four brake/parking lamps and one 3rd brake lamp in the past month. I have 40K on the odometer.

Do you have a sub back there. I used to have a civic and the bass would actually burn out the bulbs back there. Too much vibration I'm guessing.

43K on my odometer .... replace the right side once. That's it .... I don't used the third, since I have spoiler.

I've had 4 bulbs from my tail lights replaced to date, I've got 30,300 miles. All in the past 10k too...

It just occurred to me that all the bulbs come as batches when our cars are built, so maybe your car just go a bad batch of bulbs. You'll know for sure if the new bulbs burn quickly too or not.

I've replaced 1 bulb at ~23k miles. No charge to me from the dealer. Seems a bit early to be blowing bulbs.. but I must say.. I'm much happier returning to the dealer to get some bulbs swapped and rattles fixed than having mechanical problems.

i noticed that too. the same bulb for me burnt out 3 times already and i have about 18k on the car. I dunno if its a short or my system. also there are times with the other bulbs look out and i just tap on the light and they go back on and are normal. weird.....

None of the bulbs have burned out yet... but then I only have a little shy of 7K miles on it.

Thumbs up

Thanks everyone for the comments. It was just strange that my bulbs burnt out all in the same week. My dealer reimbursed me after I complained. Now I just replaced another three bulbs again. I do mostly highway driving, so breaking too much doesn't seem to be the problem.

I am just too bummed that my GSR at 88K didn't have this problem. I guess I'll just have to add this one to one of many complaints Acura will hear from me.

Question

Do you have a factory spoiler??? Sounds like maybe just maybe, a break in some wiring.

Nope, no factory spoiler. Everything is bone stock without any additions. I just think I may have gotten a lemon.
