Bulb installation

I got a new set of bulbs and only installed one of them (only one blew out ) and not i'm getting a gleam of light that seems brighter and goes further then my stock bulb. Is there any specific way of installing the bulb?

I would assume you mean the low beam HIDs.... well, you might have to re-aim the headlights. I know when I put my 6000Ks in, the alignment was ALL off. I parked it away from a wall and the then aligned it.

That doesnt make sense. Just changing a low beam bulb should not change your headlight alignment unless the bulb is not seated correctly. I would remove that bulb, and reinstall it again.

I had a hard time getting it in so maybe I moved something. I definitely didn't touch that bolt that is used for aimming though. Another time was when I removed the headlights for clearing.

yes in the DIY section!
https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...89&postcount=2

Make sure the bulb went in the exact same way the old one came out- meaning the electrode wire on the outside was pointed up and the base clip held the bulb in flat.
Since you had to work it to fit- remove and inspect that external 'trode and its shield for any breakage
If you removed the entire housing before, its possible they didnt go exactly back in the same place- there is a little room there- thats why headlights are adjustable

What bulbs did you get? brand name- K rating and were they brand new in a box?

NOTE: always replace bulbs in pairs as the output intensity will be way different between new and old- epecially on HID low beams

This applies to taillight-brakelight-turn signal bulbs too.
If one went- how far behind can the other be?

Always change bulbs in pairs. You did one, why not the other? Keep things balanced.

changing them aren't that hard, and since you did mention that the new one worked, so it just means you probably got the wrong bulb. the TL uses D2R or D2S (D2S is backward compatible with D2R). I got mine for $200 a pair, the Japanese ones. But the ebay ones for under $100 should work as well.

And make sure you get the right temperature - 6K is the most recommended one, anything higher is just for show, not practical at all.

c'mon Kris- admit it- you like the Kaixen 6000k blue tint now ~
isnt it better to see where the edge of the road is--- than to see brighter directly in front of the car- when its too late for evasive action?

I love all of these posts years after the thread was made. And I hate them at the same time.
