Broke a valve cover bolt... Now what

So I was going to do spark plugs but pulled out a coil and it was full of oil. So decided I was doing the valve cover and spark plug tube seals too. Well I was putting everything back together and as I tightned the Valve cover bolt I felt a little pop and it started spinning... I left it alone as I figured it was tight and I didn't want to undo it. But how do I fix this issue? Just rent a re-threader kit at autozone? Anyone else had this problem?

U can probably take off the cover and pull the remainer of the bolt out. It happened to my friend. So don't freak out.

You think the bolt snapped in half? As soon as it happened I stopped touching it and moved on in hopes it would be ok until I need to adjust my calves in the next 30k miles

It is no longer providing any clamping pressure so your valve cover gasket might start leaking. It will need to be taken care of as soon as possible.

The torque value of the valve cover bolts are in the inch-lbs so you don't want to be clamping these down too much.

Yea I just read that... But do y'all think the bolt head is snapped from the threads? I'm hoping sense the bolt that is messed up is the top one that is under the intake manifold it won't give much of a leak. All the other bolts are good and didn't strip any thoughts on this?

Can you pull it off and take a pic? You're going to want to get this fixed asap.

im going to try and order some more spark plug tube seals cause i dont think I installed mine right but I dont think I should take it off until I have a kit to get it fixed and a second car to get me around in case I need to go to the parts store or run into any issues where it might take me longer than anticipated. but my main question was assuming its cross threaded should I just use a thread cleaner kit? It didnt feel like it was snapped but idk, it only moved when my ratchet was on it, it wouldnt rotate with trying it with my finger.

Your going to have to remove the cover and see if there's any bolt left to clamp a vice grip on so you can remove it,if it snapped flush in the head it will have to be drilled and either first use an easy out or retapped.
