Brembo brakes and Spacers

H & R spacers
I know a few peeps on this board have used them and they come with longer studs. I was wondering if you have them did you install the longer studs as well or just the spacers. Please tell me what size spacer you got as well.

I am using the H& Rs now to clear the Brembo caliper but seems like my lug nuts keep loosening. I haven't installed the lug studs they came with yet. The spacers themselves fits snug and are made especially for our hub and bolt pattern. Tims site www.autocarparts.com can get them and they are worth it. I used universal spacers before these and they float to much also they are not metric. If you have these H & R spacers please respond to my post.

By the way a dealer said they may have to replace my bearings if they do the studs. Is this accurate?

I don't have them, but a bunch of my boys do. I'm already sticking out too much as it is (had to trim the rear bumper tab). The guys I know aren't having any problems tho; just cranked the wheels down to 80ft lbs and they're all good, wasn't any need for longer studs, plenty of thread left on the studs. How thick are the spacers?

They are only 5mm but I cant see why the lug nuts don’t hold the wheels tight. Maybe I bent something when I had the other universal spacers on. That’s when I peeled out once for a sec and now I feel a wooble in the steering wheel. I tried jacking up the car and resetting the wheels. Maybe I messed up the bearing driving around with the universal spacer and my wheel slighty crooked. Oh well

Often times, when people put aftermarket wheels on their car, the lug nuts don't fit properly in the wheel. Maybe that's something you want to look at? Sounds like a stupid answer, but I've seen studs break off because of this.

50 offset plus 5mm H and R spacers so I guess 55mm Offset in total. By the way I found out one of my tires is out of round, the one that one shop could not put on the rim and left it half on and half off thus streaching the tire funny. Jerks

By the way, I just wanted to update this old post. My rims bent beacuse the rears were riding on their inner edge instead of evenly spreading the weight accross their width.

Reason: BAD CAMBER IN REAR when dropped the suspension.

Solution: Buy a camber kit, best mod ever.

"50 offset plus 5mm H and R spacers so I guess 55mm Offset in total."

No. 50 offset plus 5mm spacers would result in an effective offset of 45mm.

think about it, lower offset = wheels stick out more. spaces effectively lower the offset.

I think you are right but it is spoke clerance that is the issue with those calipers and having that spacer pushes the spokes away from the caliper
